Mark those calendars with our extra special dates!

This Friday TCP, VSA Arts of Georgia, & YO Boulevard will launch and raise funds for the first year of their Capture Project collaboration in the O4W during a cocktail reception and meet & greet with TCP resident artists. Art works created during our pilot program will also be on display.

Check out work created by our students at Perkerson Elementary School here!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Capture Project is a technology-based education program with a focus on language arts enrichment and social responsibility via the documentary arts. Participants will experience a one day portrait photography workshop to learn the fundamentals of storytelling through portrait photography. The program will be customized to provide youth with tools they’ll need to capture the personal stories and intimate portraits of individuals they meet in their community.

Each youth will be paired with a TCP artist mentor as they embark on a portrait scavenger hunt at participating
businesses along the street car path. Each team will engage community members through interviews and photography. The experience will be documented online and will culminate with a final exhibition of portraits and stories captured by each youth participant.

These new photographs bring imagination into fruition and provide a visual escape from the ordinary to the fantastical. They will be on view at Whitespec from May 17th June 21st with an opening reception on May 17th from 7-10pm.
